Foster parents are required to complete orientation and all pre-service training as required and provided by Kidz 2 Kidz CPA in accordance with DFPS Minimum Standards and DFPS contract requirements.
Upon verification with Kidz 2 Kidz CPA, each foster parent will obtain 30 hours of annual training. Areas of annual training include but are not limited to Emergency Behavior Intervention prevention and techniques, DFPS Psychotropic medications course, DFPS Trauma Informed Care course, and DFPS Medical Consenter Course.
Foster parents and program staff will work in collaboration with each other to identify other areas of additional training and determine appropriate resources to obtain identified training needs as they pertain to individual needs of children and/or youth and families.
